Margaret Leahy

Margaret is the Social Enterprise Development Manager at Rethink Ireland.

Margaret has a long history of volunteering and working in the community and voluntary sector. Her job satisfaction comes from doing work that makes a positive difference to people’s lives. She has supported numerous social enterprises and was awarded an Arthur Guinness Social Entrepreneur award for a project she set up in Mayo. Margaret was named Mayo Inspirational Woman of the Year 2015!

She graduated from NUI Galway with a Masters in Rural Development and a BA in Training & Education. Margaret has served as a Director and member of a number of regional and national organisations including being a Ministerial appointee to the Food Safety Authority Consultative Council. She was also the Chairperson of the Irish Organic Farmers & Growers Association.

Margaret lives in Connemara with a menagerie of rescue animals. She loves her garden and travels the country every year supporting Mayo ladies and men’s GAA.
